So after this 2014 Thief game pretty much tanked, what are the chances of us (old school Thief fans) seeing another Thief game being released? In true Thief fashion?I'm not terribly up to speed on industry news-are the folks from LGS still around? Have they gone to work at Bethesda to create games like Dishonored?I've started playing Thief Gold and soon, Thief II again. Can't imagine I'm the only one who would LOVE to see another quality, REAL entry in the series, with Stephen back as Garrett (F U C K this new guy, whatever his name is). You failed to mention that most people who defend the games have private profiles as well. Zoo, Nifft, Master Thief, Romy, DRMN, funny how they are not man enough to make their profiles private and expose themeselves. Also, for your information, Nifft has been stalking people who hate the game, me and Accept included, with threats and harrassment, so I switched my profile to friends only. Accept did not do that, so Nifft still harrasses him, making threats and claiming to get Accept banned if he does not stop expressing his opinion.
That guy is sick. Originally posted by:Man enough? You failed to mention that most people who defend the games have private profiles as well. But from my POV if you are going to bash something/someone have the balls to do it from a public profile. I used to respect you for doing it before. I never accepted your POV and your extremely rude tune but at least you were writing showing your Steam face so to say.But so many others are hiding behind a private profiles. While you are busy playing or doing your own activities close your profile if you like. But when you participate into a discussion IMO do it from an open profile. As for DRMN, ohh please, at the time I used to read their posts they were heavily negative towards Thief 2014.
Now, I don't know, I don't read their posts anymore. If someone harasses you there are means to make him/her stop - blocking, reporting harassment. And I believe you are aware of those.Anyway I don't find this topic interesting so I better quit it. I mean, at least 4-5 years from now. Square might remake Thief 1 or reboot it again. Or continue the story after Thief 3.
But it's doubtful for now. What little is left of Eidos Montreal is doing a new Deus EX, IOI is doing Hitman 6, SE Montreal are doing mobile stuff last I checked. They simply don't have a studio that could do it even if they wanted to.Too bad eh?
LGS is gone, no more Thief. Westwood is gone, no more quality C&C. Too many examples. Originally posted by:I don't really think we'll see a new Thief game anytime soon.
However, you can always replay the old games, there are loads of fan missions available, although you probably already know about that. There's also The Dark Mod, if you don't know about it, then perhaps you should check it out.About LGS, I'm not sure what's been of them, but it seems like some of it's members are working on a new Underworld game called 'Underworld Ascendant'.Yeah, after I finish the 2 main games for the Nth time, I'm going to play T2X and other fan missions. But there's something about the original games by LGS, the quality of which I'm afraid could not be matched by fan missions. What the hell are you hiding? That the only games you have played lately is Solitaire and Minesweeper? And OP if you have played Thief 2014 on a console why don't you comment in the respective forum?Son, your argument is rather weak.1) I honestly don't see how my profile being private has ANYTHING to do with expressing my opinion.
Lol seriously, WHY? I'm not trying to hide anything. I just don't wish to display my library and such, perhaps to people like you lol.2) What you 6 years old? So I bashed a game which you apparently spent stupendious amount of time on, you got mad, and just assumed all I ever play is minesweeper and hearts? Lol really man?3) What part of my original post suggested I was playing this game on a console? Are you blind?
Or just have comprehension issues? I'm a 100% bulletproof PC gamer, son.LOL you are laughable. We always have the classic trilogy to replay and if we want to torture ourselves or laugh at bad design 101, we have Thief 2014 for that. I had hope that the DX:HR team could at least make a decent game and they failed.Maybe it's time to move on and the this series die in peace?
'Here's something you don't see much in the doom and gloom of financial season: Square Enix is revising its forecasts up because it's posted better sales than expected across the fiscal year. The Japanese publisher said several games recorded positive sales, such as Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Thief and, yes, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.' 'During its first week on sale in the UK it’s managed to top the charts, overhauling the mighty FIFA 14 and becoming the UK’s second best-selling number 1 so far this year. In fact, in the words of UKIE GfK Chart-Track, it has “smashed” the week one numbers attained by its predecessor Thief: Deadly Shadows back in 2004.'
